Austin Coverage
Austin’s security needs are shaped by dense business districts, a large technology workforce, government activity, universities, and a constant schedule of concerts, conferences, and public events. Many organizations operate in close proximity to crowds, public streets, and shared facilities, which increases the likelihood of incidents if security is not planned correctly.
Our security agency provides services throughout Downtown Austin, the Capitol area, South Congress, East Austin, The Domain, West Lake Hills, Barton Creek, and surrounding residential and commercial areas. Coverage is designed around how people actually move between offices, venues, schools, churches, and homes across the city.

Transportation Security
Security support for safe movement between locations in Austin.

Event Security
Security coverage for concerts, conferences, and private events.
Event Security Company
Our company provides event security for gatherings where large crowds, alcohol service, or public access increase the chance of conflict. Coverage includes entry control, crowd monitoring, and rapid response to disturbances so small problems do not become serious incidents.
Residential Security
Security services for homes and residential communities.
Residential Security Company
Our agency provides residential security for clients dealing with trespassing, harassment, theft, or repeated disturbances. Coverage is planned around property layout, neighborhood activity, and daily routines rather than constant visible presence.

Our agency deploys trained K9 teams to support detection efforts when visual inspection alone is insufficient. K9 services are commonly used before events, during access screening, or when concerns involve concealed items that require specialized detection.
Surveillance & Intelligence
Information gathering to support security decisions.
Surveillance Company and Intelligence Agency
Our company provides surveillance and intelligence services to help clients understand situations before committing resources. This service gathers factual information, identifies patterns, and supports decisions about whether security measures should be increased, adjusted, or scaled back.

Professional and reliable. We had a situation with another tenant in our office building which needed the attention of someone like JomsVikings. We've never had to hire a company like this so I had no idea what to expect. Josh answered all my questions. He followed up with text messages, phone calls and emails. He explained the process in great detail from what we should do, to what we should expect and every aspect that I had no idea about. We worked with Alex and Mike who were both professional and hard working. All of our employees felt much better with them around. If, for whatever reason you find yourself in a position where you need protection and security, call JomsVikings. They are worth every penny spent.

I cannot say enough about how personable, professional, respectful, humane and effective this team is! I worked with them on a complex, outdoor event and they interacted with very diverse people in a direct, pleasant and assertive manner. They followed our directions and also, took a leadership role when they had a better strategy based on their professional experience. I will definitely hire them again and I encourage anyone seeking a responsive, culturally responsive, intelligent and most importantly effective security team to work with this team!

I operate a business in St Paul, MN that was burglarized over Thanksgiving weekend. While we waited on the alarm company to procure the sensors for the system, I hired JomsVikings to patrol / sit on the property. The communication from the principle was professional and proactive. Plus having direct communication with the actual security detail was excellent. JomsViking gave us a piece of mind during some heightened uncertainty. If I ever have another need they’ll be my first call.
Austin Security FAQs
What types of events in Austin are legally required to have security?
Many permitted events in Austin require licensed security based on crowd size, alcohol service, or venue type. This commonly includes concerts, festivals, ticketed public events, events serving alcohol, and gatherings held on public property. The City of Austin often specifies security requirements as part of the event permit process.
Does serving alcohol at an event in Austin require professional security?
In many cases, yes. Events serving alcohol under a TABC permit are frequently required to provide licensed security personnel, especially when attendance exceeds certain thresholds or when alcohol is served outdoors. Security is expected to manage entry, monitor consumption-related issues, and respond to disturbances.
How does Austin traffic affect transportation security?
Road closures, construction, and event congestion create delays and predictable choke points. Transportation security planning focuses on safe arrivals, departures, and alternate routing to reduce vulnerability.
How does extreme heat impact security operations at Austin events?
High temperatures increase medical incidents, fatigue, and irritability, especially at outdoor gatherings. Security planning accounts for pacing, monitoring, and coordination so issues are addressed early.
Are venues responsible if an incident occurs without required security?
Yes. Event organizers and venue operators can face liability if required security measures are not in place or are insufficient. This includes injuries, property damage, or failure to comply with permit conditions. Many Austin organizers hire security specifically to reduce this exposure.
Are large private events required to have security in Austin?
Private events can still be required to provide security if they exceed occupancy limits, involve alcohol, or are held in venues that require crowd management under fire code or permit conditions. Weddings, corporate parties, and ticketed private concerts often fall into this category.
Do festivals and street closures in Austin require security coverage?
Yes. Events that involve street closures, public parks, or city-managed spaces typically require an approved security plan. This includes crowd control, access points, and coordination with event staff. Security is often mandated to reduce strain on public emergency services.
Do political events or demonstrations in Austin require private security?
Political rallies, protests, and demonstrations commonly require a private security plan as part of permitting, especially when held near the Capitol or downtown corridors. Private security is used to manage access, keep participants separated, and prevent spillover into surrounding businesses.
When is K9 detection appropriate for events in Austin?
K9 detection is often requested for larger concerts, festivals, high-profile speakers, or events with restricted access areas. It is especially common when venues require screening of backstage areas, loading zones, or pre-event spaces before the public arrives.
What types of Austin businesses commonly require ongoing security patrols?
Bars, music venues, mixed-use developments, office parks with shared access, and residential communities with repeat incidents often require patrol services. Patrols are used to deter problems, document activity, and provide rapid response without full-time on-site guards.
